Legal
Terms of Use
Effective Date: August 8, 2026
These terms explain the agreement between you and Ready Enough when you use this website. They matter most in the unlikely event something goes wrong, so they are worth a few minutes of your time.
Accepting these terms
By visiting or using Ready Enough, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. If you use the site on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for it.
Our content is educational
Everything on Ready Enough — articles, guides, checklists, gear recommendations and emails — is general educational and informational content about household emergency preparedness. It reflects our research and experience, written for a broad audience rather than for your specific household.
Not professional advice
Ready Enough does not provide professional, medical, legal, engineering, financial, insurance, emergency-management or safety-inspection advice, and nothing here creates a professional relationship of any kind. Always consult a qualified professional, and follow the laws, building codes and manufacturer instructions that apply to you, before acting on anything you read here.
Emergencies: contact the authorities
This website is not an emergency service and must never be used as one. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately. During a disaster or severe weather event, follow the instructions of local officials, emergency managers, and agencies such as your local emergency management office, the National Weather Service and FEMA. Official guidance always takes priority over anything on this site.
Product recommendations and affiliate links
Our gear recommendations are opinions based on our own research and use. Some links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships never change what we recommend, and we regularly recommend the cheaper option — or none at all.
Prices, availability, specifications and retailer terms change without notice, and we cannot guarantee the accuracy of that information at the moment you read it.
Third-party products and websites
We do not make, sell, ship, warrant or service any product we recommend. Your purchase is a transaction between you and the retailer, and any warranty, return or support question is theirs to resolve. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience; we do not control them and are not responsible for their content, products or practices.
No guarantees
Emergencies are unpredictable and households differ. We cannot promise that any piece of information, checklist or recommended product will be suitable, sufficient, available or effective for your situation, or for any particular emergency. The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Assumption of risk
You are responsible for deciding what is appropriate for your household and for acting safely. Preparedness activities can involve real risk — fuel, fire, batteries, generators, water treatment, tools, stored food and physical exertion among them. You use the information on this site voluntarily and at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ready Enough and the people who work on it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, property, business or goodwill, arising out of your use of this site, its content, or any product or website we link to — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Intellectual property
The Ready Enough name, logo, written content, photography, checklists and design are owned by us or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may read, print and share our pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, and you may quote short excerpts with clear credit and a link.
You may not republish, sell, or use our content to train automated systems, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests endorsement, without our written permission.
Prohibited use
You agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms.
- Copy, scrape or harvest content or email addresses by automated means.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or its systems.
- Interfere with the site’s operation, security or availability.
- Submit false information, spam, malware, or content that is unlawful or infringing.
We may limit or end access to the site at any time if we believe these terms have been broken.
