Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 8, 2026
Ready Enough is a preparedness website for ordinary households in the United States. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it the way we write everything else here: plainly, and without filler.
Information you give us
You can read Ready Enough without telling us anything about yourself. The only personal information we collect is information you choose to give us, which is typically:
- Your first name, if you enter it in a signup form.
- Your email address, when you subscribe to our newsletter or request a free resource such as the 72-Hour Checklist.
- Anything you include in a message you send us directly.
We do not ask for sensitive information, and we ask that you not send it. We do not sell your personal information.
Newsletter subscriptions
If you subscribe, we use your name and email address to send the Ready Enough newsletter, the resource you requested, and occasional notes about new articles, guides or gear recommendations. We may keep basic records of which resource you signed up for so the emails you receive are relevant.
Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect promptly, and you can resubscribe at any time.
Cookies and analytics
Ready Enough may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working properly, remember basic preferences, and understand how pages are used in aggregate — for example, which guides people read most.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings; the site will still work, though some conveniences may not.
Third-party services
Like most websites, Ready Enough relies on service providers to operate — for example hosting, email delivery, and website analytics. These providers process information only as needed to provide their service to us, and each has its own privacy practices.
We do not list specific providers here because the tools a small publisher uses change over time. If you would like to know which services are in use at any given moment, email us and we will tell you.
Affiliate links
Some links to gear are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy something — at no extra cost to you. When you follow one of those links, the retailer may set its own cookie to record that the visit came from us. Any purchase you make happens on the retailer’s website, under the retailer’s privacy policy. We never see your payment details, and affiliate relationships never change what we recommend.
How long we keep information
We keep newsletter information for as long as you remain subscribed, and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can honor unsubscribe requests and keep basic records. Messages you send us are kept as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of the conversation.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the limited information we hold, including restricted access and encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we keep as little information as possible, which is the best protection of all.
Your privacy choices
- Unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it.
- Ask us what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your personal information.
- Ask us not to sell or share your personal information — we do not do either.
To make a request, email us using the contact details below. We may need to confirm your identity, usually by replying from the email address on file, before acting on a request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You will never be treated differently for exercising a privacy right.
Children’s privacy
Ready Enough is written for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
Our articles, guides and gear pages link to other websites, including retailers and official emergency-management resources. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. Please review their policies before sharing information with them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes or as the law requires. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted clearly, and continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
